About two hours drive from Cape Town, along and off the N2 highway, lies the Langezandt Fishermen's Village, a truly unique celebration of all the best things this region has to offer.
Just a few kilometers further along lies Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet so tempestuously, to then merge in sublime harmony.
Many see this pristine area as a place of great significance.
The region has an abundance of historical and natural wealth. One of the most interesting is the majestic Struisplaat, 24 kilometers of perfect, uninterrupted sandy beach - some say the
longest in the Southern Hemisphere. And endless it appears, because it stretches from Langezandt all the way to Arniston, further north along the coast.
Langezandt Fishermen's Village can rightfully claim to have the southernmost sandy beach in Africa and, by the same token, the very first sandy beach warmed by the Indian Ocean. The shoreline
here is caressed by seas that are almost lukewarm in summer, while inland the Estate is surrounded by exquisite fynbos reserves. Our beach, with its sparkling white sands and gentle slope
into the water, makes for safe and happy bathing, some would say almost all year round.
